In Palamós, Peruvian cuisine finds a place in the Michelin Guide

The Girona town of Palamós, is known gastronomically especially for its prawns. Of a sublime quality and highly valued on the market, the Palamós prawn is almost obligatory to try if we escape to this town on the Costa Brava. Precisely one of the restaurants where we can find it, is specialized in Peruvian cuisine. A Peruvian gastronomy that we already know that pays a lot of attention to the sea to prepare its dishes, and that has a good location in Palamós to express its full potential.

The Palamós prawn as a gastronomic claim

This is the Entre Dos Mons restaurant, which is also already included in the Michelin Guide for the high quality of its dishes on the menu and its different menus. In this restaurant, Catalan gastronomy is fused with the flavors of the best Peruvian recipes, since the chef is from there. They have their own orchard and are concerned about sustainability, something that is also worth mentioning about Entre Dos Mons!

Being the third best rated restaurant in Palamós on TripAdvisor, we wanted to know a little about its menu, and regarding fish, these are some of the options that we have been able to see:

    • Prawn dish 100% certified Palamós
    • Mussels with 100% Iberian bacon and Peruvian sauce
    • Anchovies salted by us with tomato bread
    • “Mixed” ceviche as my father used to prepare it with fish from the Palamós fish market, scallops and molluscs

Perfect dishes for lovers of fish and shellfish to enjoy in a restaurant located a few meters from Palamós beach, and from which we read comments like this on TripAdvisor: “The passion for feeding well drives this house. Respect for a quality, local product; the combination of flavors and cultures; an effort to expose the value of the menu, including the wines and a fair price for what you eat define the effort of the owners, who clearly enjoy it.”

In the different menus that we find in their menu, depending on how many dishes we want to try (“small” menu, “between two mons” menu or “tasting” menu) we find some of the previously mentioned dishes, but also others that help us to understand this mixture of Peruvian and Catalan cuisine that is bringing so many successes to Entre Dos Mons. These are some of those that we can see in the different menus:

    • Royal of chanterelles with partridge
    • Organic beef steak tartare
    • Squid with parmentier of its ink and seasonal mushroom
    • Sea urchin and codium rice
    • Pumpkin polenta from the garden, black sausage and sea urchins
    • Lamb terrine with grilled aubergine purée

Dishes as we see made with dedication and looking for the best combination of flavors, something that we will also find in desserts, where creativity also has its space to finish this gastronomic experience in the best way.

  • The prices of the menus per person range from 38 to 75 euros depending on the one we choose.
  • Entre Dos Mons is an option that is already recommended by the Michelin Guide, and that in 2022 will continue to delight many.
